Gators in the Desert
UF Audiology had a strong presence at the recent meeting of the American Academy of Audiology in Phoenix. From Dr. Melissa Hall’s presentation on verification and validation of hearing assistive technologies, to Dr. Razan Al Fakir’s presentation on loneliness and social isolation in older adults, to Ms. Janelle Kelley’s paper on the role of diet in hearing, the breadth of UF’s current auditory research was on display. In all, 12 of the department’s current Au.D. and Ph.D. students, and more than three dozen Gator alumni, presented papers at the largest annual gathering of audiologists in the world.
