Graduate Student Michelle Valenti Receives PHHP Research Day Award

ValentiHegland-600x450Michelle Valenti, a graduate student in speech-language pathology, was selected as one of the top abstract presenters at PHHP’s Research Day. Her project, entitled “Oropharyngeal swallowing in Parkinson’s disease: A retrospective comparison on longitudinal swallowing function,” was completed in partial fulfillment of her master’s degree in speech-language pathology.  Valenti and fellow graduate student Seth Dornisch successfully defended their theses last month under the mentorship of Dr. Karen Hegland.
