Charles Ellis Jr., Ph.D., Appointed as Chair of SLHS

We are pleased to announce that Charles Ellis, Jr., Ph.D., CCC-SLP has been appointed Chair of the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, and will be joining our faculty in July 2021. Dr. Ellis is internationally recognized for his clinical outcomes research in the areas of adult neurogenic communication disorders and health disparities. He is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and has been recognized by ASHA for his significant contributions in multicultural affairs. Dr. Ellis is currently a Professor at Eastern Carolina University, before which he worked at the Medical University of South Carolina for ten years. Dr. Ellis is a graduate of the UF Rehabilitation Science Doctoral Program and we are excited to welcome him back to our campus!
