Stephen Hardy teaches American Sign Language and Deaf Culture. In addition, he is the faculty advisor for the University of Florida’s Chapter of the American Sign Language Honor Society and of the social Deaf culture club, Signing Gators. He has been teaching American Sign Language, ASL linguistics, and Deaf studies for over 12 years at the collegiate level. Stephen has a B.A. in Political Science and an M.Ed. from the University of Florida. Stephen has served in a number of leadership positions at the county and state level, including being the president of the Florida Association of the Deaf for four years. He has presented workshops at regional interpreter training conferences and is a member of the American Sign Language Teachers Association. His interests including American Sign Language linguistics and measuring brain functions of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing through fMRI.
