The UF Screen Team is a faculty and student run program that provides free professional and compassionate speech, language and hearing screening services to children enrolled in early intervention programs, daycares, and public and private educational institutions throughout north central and northeast Florida. We aim to significantly improve the pediatric populations access of care in our community. Our goal is to put the child and their families first providing counseling, education, support, and advocacy.

Dr. Krista Fitzgerald received her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Connecticut in 2013. Her graduate clinic rotations and research focused heavily on auditory evoked potentials, vestibular testing, peripheral and central hearing pathology, and central auditory processing disorder testing and evaluations. After graduation, she accepted a job offer as a surgical neurophysiologist, primarily working with otolaryngologists, neuro-otologists and neurosurgeons. During her employment she obtained her audiology license and certificate in intraoperative neuromonitoring (CNIM). Dr. Krista Fitzgerald is the Director of Clinical Education for the Au.D. Program and an assistant clinical professor. She enjoys sharing her knowledge in the topics of electrophysiology and medical audiology and strives to provide clinical correlates in all of her teaching experiences. She is a supporter of outreach activities and assists in organizing and leading the students in this endeavor, along with serving as the advisor for the Student Academy of Audiology at the University. Dr. Krista Fitzgerald has her ASHA C’s, a Florida Audiology license, her certification in neurophysiologic intraoperative neuromonitoring (CNIM), and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology,

Kristen Lewandowski, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a speech pathologist who comes to the University of Florida with 10+ years of clinical experience in our community. She most recently worked as a school-based speech pathologist evaluating and treating school age speech and language disorders. During that time, she worked PRN at an in-patient rehab facility and an outpatient pediatric practice. Prior to that, she was the director of rehab in a skilled nursing facility where she also evaluated and treated speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders. Her areas of clinical interest include children and adults with autism and related disorders, augmentative/alternative communication and adult/geriatric language and cognitive disorders.
