UF Screen Team

The UF Screen Team is a faculty and student run program that provides free professional and compassionate speech, language and hearing screening services to children enrolled in early intervention programs, daycares, and public and private educational institutions throughout north central and northeast Florida. We aim to significantly improve the pediatric populations access of care in our community. Our goal is to put the child and their families first providing counseling, education, support, and advocacy.

Currently we are affiliated with Head Start programs in Alachua, Marion, and Duval county.

Kristen Lewandowski, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a speech pathologist who comes to the University of Florida with 10+ years of clinical experience in our community. She most recently worked as a school-based speech pathologist evaluating and treating school age speech and language disorders. During that time, she worked PRN at an in-patient rehab facility and an outpatient pediatric practice. Prior to that, she was the director of rehab in a skilled nursing facility where she also evaluated and treated speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders. Her areas of clinical interest include children and adults with autism and related disorders, augmentative/alternative communication, adult/geriatric language and cognitive disorders, and clinical education/training.
